Evaton Run 2026
Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s Fortress Evaton Run at Evaton Mall! Despite the chilly early-morning start, over 300 runners took part in the 21.1km, 10km, and 5km races!

21.1km Men’s race:
1st place: Gladwin Mzazi (Boxer Athletics Club)
2nd place: Pule Sibeko (Nedbank Running Club)
3rd place: Sakhile Sangweni (Inkamana AC)
21.1km Women’s race:
1st place: Cornelia Joubert
2nd place: Moleboheng Matlakeng (Maxed Elite Lesotho)
3rd place: Rose Jijana (Actom AC)
Gladwin Mzazi is a Comrades Marathon Wally Hayward medallist and former SA 5000m champion. This is the second time that Cornelia Joubert has won the 21.1km Evaton Run – the first time was in 2023.
Thank you to 2004 Comrades Marathon champion Fusi Nhlapo and this year’s Comrades third-place finisher Mbuti Mollo for joining the spectators to cheer everyone on.
